Wine Experience in Tenerife

Bodega Tajinaste – Canary Islands winery in the heart of La Orotava

A few minutes’ drive from Jardin de la Paz, Tajinaste Winery is regarded as one of the well-known wine producers of the Canary Islands. It was founded in 1939: The grandparents laid the foundation of the winery, as the carpenter and the seamstress initially produced wine for their neighbors. From a hobby, a professional agriculture developed over the years, where today several generations work hand in hand – from winemaking to distribution and sales, to tastings and tours, with different family members now involved in daily operations. In the Vinotheque opened in 2021 you can taste all wines, join wine tastings, and take the delicious wines with you a for a special vacation moment to your terrace at Jardin de la Paz or on a trip into Tenerife’s unique nature.

Nine grapes thrive on Tajinaste, including Listán Negro, Listán Blanco, Malvasía, and Marmajuelo. The winery’s name refers to the rare Canary plant Tajinaste, which blooms magnificently in May and June in Teide National Park and symbolizes the island’s unique flora.

Our guests at Jardin de la Paz can also enjoy selected Tajinaste wines in the hotel restaurant, including the whites Tajinaste Blanco and Paisaje de las Islas, as well as the exceptional premium red wine CAN, paired with a suitable dinner from our kitchen that combines local specialties with regional terroir.
